Contest FAQs
Q: How do I submit an entry?
A: The Contest is an online contest and all entries must be submitted at MealMax.com.
During the Contest Entry Submission Period (01/16/2008 ~ 02/15/2008),
log onto MealMax.com, and on the Contest Home page (http://www.mealmax.com/vancouver2008),
click on the "Submit Contest Entry" button or the "Submit new entry link" on the left
menu. All the contest entries should be viewable if you click the "View Contest Entries"
button on the Contest Home page.
Please note that your post that is not submitted from the Contest Home page will
not be considered a contest entry.
Q: Do I need to sign up for a MealMax member account to submit an entry?
A: Yes. To submit your entry, you need to sign up for a member account on MealMax.com
(http://www.mealmax.com/signup).
You must provide a valid email address so we can contact you if you are a winner.
Q: What is the format of a contest entry?
A: A contest entry consists of a title and a body, with optional photos. The body contains a description, story
or other details of your experience. Photos are optional. All submissions must contain
no more than 20 photos, each no larger than 10MB. Digital photos may be submitted online as JPEG, GIF or PNG files.
Q: How many entries can I submit?
A: You can submit as many entries as you like, as long as they are related to different
dining experiences. Please note that the entries must be created entirely by you and
must be original, unpublished, and not previously or currently submitted for consideration
in any other contest or promotion.
Q: Can I save my entry before submitting? How?
A: Yes. Actually, you can save your entry as a draft at any time, as long as it is before the end of the Contest
Entry Submission Period. To do so, click the "Save Draft"
button on the Submit(Edit)New Entry page. Your draft entry is your working version of your entry and
the public cannot view it until you post it. If you have posted an entry and after that you modify it
and save as a draft,
the public will see your most-recently posted entry instead of your draft, unless you repost your draft.
There are two ways you can access your draft entries:
Q: Can I edit my entry after I submit it?
A: Yes, you can edit your entry after you submit it and before the end of the Contest Entry Submission Period.
The purpose of this is to allow the contestant to make minor changes, such as correcting spelling errors
or rephrasing. Since people may already have voted for your entry after you submit it, we ask that
you not make major changes to your entry.
There are two ways you can edit your entry:
Q: Can I see how many votes I have received?
A: Before the end of the contest, the number of votes that each entry receives is only viewable to the author of
the entry. If you have submitted an entry, you can see how many votes you have received by clicking the "My contest"
link on the left menu, and the number of votes will be displayed in the Entries I Have Submitted section.
Q: Do I need to sign up for a MealMax member account to vote for a contest entry?
A: No, you do not have to have a MealMax member account in order to vote. However, if you are not a MealMax
registered user, you must enter a verification code every time you vote for an entry. In addition,
only MealMax registered users qualify for the Lucky Voter Prize.
Q: How many entries can I vote for?
A: You can vote for any entry you like. However, one person voting multiple times for the same entry is not allowed.
Doing so goes against the spirit of the Contest and MealMax reserves the right to disqualify votes that it
believes do not follow the contest rules.
Q: How do I know if I win a prize or not?
A: On March 3rd 2008, MealMax will begin to contact the contestants who have qualified to win a prize.
MealMax will contact each such contestant by MealMax Message and email. On March 10th 2008, the winners' names
and locations will be posted on this website.
